Illusions - Part 4

The place was eerie and dull. The patient bed she was lying on was replaced by a silver metal bed. The bed contained the wash and drain unit attached on both ends of bed.  There were sharp surgical instruments neatly kept inside the silver bowl on silver trolley. She looked at herself. She was shocked. She wasn't wearing the clothes she had worn while coming. Instead she wore white patient gown.

She almost fainted . But she took deep breath to maintain herself. The monster tried to pull her back to sleeping position. She fought back and started to run towards the main door. When she reached the door, the door seemed locked. There was no latches or key hole on the door. She was confused. She turned back. The monster was almost close to her. She started banging the door and calling for help.

No one seemed to hear her cries. Suddenly she felt someone hold her. She assumed it was the monster. Immediately, she closed her eyes. He was able to turn her around towards him. She opened her eyes in fear. She screamed in horror when she saw that a monster stood in front of her in Kabir's clothes. Due to shock, she fainted.

Few hours passed by when she opened her eyes. She had severe headache. Her joints pained as well. She looked around. Everything came back to normal. There was no monster except for the doctor and Kabir. They looked startled at her. Her gaze turned down in embarrassment. She began to sob inconsolably. The doctor placed his hand on her shoulder for comfort. "Don't worry. It was just a dream. This problem can be cured. ", he said.

He went back to his table and scribbled something on the notepad. He tore the page and handed it to her. "These are some medication for your sleep. It will help you to sleep normally. However, we will work on your dreams from next few sessions. I don't want to tax you on today's session itself. Take rest and get back day after tomorrow. ", he spoke gently.

The couple nodded and got up to leave.  When they reached home, Kabir took the prescription from her hand, "I will get the medicine. You take rest."  She agreed gloomily and headed towards the living room. She didn't want to sleep. She feared of travelling back to place she dreaded to be in. She switched on the TV and surfed through the channels until she stopped on movie channel where her favorite movie was playing. She was enjoying until her eyes drifted slowly to sleep.
