The Bungalow Number 420- Part 8
Roger didn't trust his ex aide. He had been cheated by him many times. He trusted him many times and gave him many chances. But not this time. He remembered the day when he first met him. He thought he was innocent man. His judgement never misled him. Manoj's story seemed to be true. He had told him he needed money to cure his son from cancer. He believed him. He believed the documents he had shown.
He had even visited his house when he had got doubt. His family seemed to be like normal family. The son looked sick. Everything looked real. Few days later, he found out that Manoj was a fraud. He had no son. He wasn't even married. He was a conman. He targeted the rich and famous and looted them without their knowledge. Roger was one of his victim.
Roger had caught him red hand conning some influential person. He had threatened to disclose him to that influential person and put him behind bars. Manoj begged him not to do that. He had promised him that he would pay off his debts. Roger believed him - the worst mistake of his life. He should have not believed him. He should have made him rot in jail.
He decided to take look at the Bungalow. There would be some hidden treasure for him. He had heard about murders. Maybe he would get some clues regarding the murder. He would send those clues to the police and frame Manoj as murderer. He was sure Manoj had something to do with the murder. But he didn't understand why he was spying that rich lad.
Roger had chosen midnight to do his work. There would be no people around. Everyone would be sound asleep. He would be free to check the house. He arrived on time. He stood in front of the door. The atmosphere around him looked eerie. There were stray dogs howling nearby. The moon hid behind clouds dispelling the light behind. These things would affect anyone not Roger. He was on a mission.
He looked around. There was no one. He bent down to open his locksmith tools. His dad was an expert locksmith before setting his car dealership business. He had learnt great deal of opening the locks. He looked at the lock. It wasn't difficult to open with tools he had. He took out the tension wrench and a bobby pin. He inserted both into the lock. It took him few minutes to open the door. He got inside the house. He looked around the place , searching for place to start with. He was unaware that there was someone standing behind him.
