The Uber Ride - Part 4
The passenger remained in deep thought. His expression was still fury one. Lee prayed that the passenger didn't cancel the ride or gave negative feedback. He already had a bad day. One negative feedback could affect his image in front of Uber. Drops of sweat trickled from his forehead out of fear.
"Fine, I won't complain. I only want to be dropped at my drop off point. I don't want any of your shitty nonsense during our ride. No more hiccups. Understand !", the passenger said firmly. Lee nodded weakly. He started the engine to drive. In few minutes, the trip began.
The road was empty as usual. The streets lights were dim. Everything seemed okay until now. Suddenly a sedan arrived right at him with it's front light blazed at Lee. He was barely able to see the car. He pulled his car over the lane next to the footpath. His heart was on his mouth. He wiped the sweat on his forehead.
He turned back slowly to see his passenger. He was scared to face his wrath again. " That driver was crazy. Thank God! We are saved.",the passenger said angrily. Lee was relived. He pulled his car back to the road. He hoped there were no more surprises. He only wanted the trip to end soon and get back home.
He reached the destination. The graveyard looked quiet except for street dogs that howled. He took deep breathe and pressed the 'complete' button to end the ride. He turned back to see the passenger. There was no one behind. He hadn't heard him opening the door. He got out to see. There was no one.
It seemed strange. If anyone had to go out, there would be sound of his movement of getting out of the car. If he had gone out silently, he would be walking. There was no house or any building visible around. The dogs were still howling. A cold breeze blew across his face, giving him goosebumps. He quickly got inside the car and drove as fast as he could from the place.
