The Curfew - Part 4
After quick dinner, they began their journey. It took them an hour to get to the outskirts of the city. The road was quite empty now with only few vehicles on the road. The street lights beamed brightly. The girls were slowly drifting to sleep. However the elder one tried to stay awake in order to give company to her husband who was driving.
Rohan yawned couple of times. Watching him yawn, his wife couldn't control her urge to sleep and decided to close her eyes for few minutes. She was sleeping peacefully. Suddenly her head jerked and she opened her eyes immediately. She turned towards her husband's side. She was horrified to see her husband's headless body driving the car while the blood was oozing out of his neck. She screamed while turning behind to check on her sister. Her sister's stomach was ripped open with intestines scattered out. She closed her eyes and screamed again.
"Deepika, wake up ! What happened?", she heard Rohan's voice. She opened her eyes. It was a bad dream. Everything was normal. Rohan and Diya were fine. They both looked concerned. "What happened ?", they asked again. "Oh I saw a bad dream.", she said softly. Diya laughed uncontrollably. "Jeez! Akka ! It's just eight thirty in the night. And you always tell me that I get scared during daylight. Look who is afraid now.", she mocked her.
Deepika stared at her angrily for few minutes. Later she joked, "I swear ! Looks like it's side effect of being with you." Diya made a face and got busy with her phone. But her sister was still thinking about the dream. She prayed that they reached home on time. She didn't want her dream to become a reality.
They had one more hour to reach home. With every passing minute, the sisters became more worried. They only wished to reach home safe and quick. However they tried to divert the mind by having a light chat. "So what's the fuss with the ghost or demon lurking on this particular road?", Rohan asked out of blue. The sisters stared at him as if he had asked them for their lives.
"Well, at the end of this road you find three way junction. At the three way junction, families or close friends of the possessed person with the exorcist specialist priest release these demons by placing of lemons after chanting sacred prayers with belief that these demons would weaken and attain Moksha or liberation. But sometimes lemons get blown away from that place to nearby places due to strong winds and these demons again end up wandering , looking for new body to possess.", Deepika replied worriedly. " It's just myth. I don't believe this.", Diya argued. "Says that person who gets scared even at the sound of plates falling down.", her sister mocked. Both sisters were in mood to argue but Rohan intervened, "Cool down girls ! Every time we talk about this topic, there is always an argument."
