Flight EK 666 - Part 10

One of the cabin crew member named Rosie arrived immediately. She asked Tina if she could provide any assistance. "I would like to know why the plane hasn't landed. It's already past the landing time.", Tina inquired. Rosie stared at her with poker face. She replied after few minutes. "Ma'am, I think you are mistaken. We still have time. When we land, we will let you know through an announcement."

Tina was slightly annoyed by her answer. She asked her again, " But it's already 4 am on my watch. The plane should definitely land now." Rosie was about to say something when Tom intervened, "It's not yet time. It's still 2: 45 am in my watch." Tina stared at both of them with embarrassment. "Maybe my watch is ticking faster.", she joked with nervous smile. Tom laughed while Rosie smiled. "Do you need anything else, Ma'am?", Rosie asked and quickly left when she got no answer from Tina.

"How is it possible that my watch is not working properly? It's new watch. Maybe it's faulty one. I should let my brother know once I reach.", she thought. More thoughts surfaced in her mind. Her heart was beating faster. Memories of what happened few hours ago replayed constantly. She couldn't brush them off. "Why is this happening to me? Am I so affected by my brother's tales?", she wondered.

She immediately dismissed those thoughts. "I am just thinking too much.", she thought. "What are you thinking about?", Tom asked suddenly. "Nothing ! Just random thoughts about today.", she replied. "Don't worry. Everyone has rough days sometimes.", he said with a smile. She smiled back. She changed her watch back to 2:50 am. There was still forty mins more for the flight to land.

She waited patiently. She read some magazines. She looked blankly at black sky outside the window. She changed channels repeatedly and settled with one good comedy movie. The movie distracted her for some time. She looked at her watch momentarily. It was exact three thirty. She wondered why there was no announcement yet. The plane was supposed to land now. She waited for another twenty mins. Then she pressed the button to call the flight attendant.

Tom stared at her in surprise. Rosie arrived immediately. She asked her whether she could provide any assistance. "You told me that it was still not time. It's already twenty mins past 3:30. Why has the plane not landed?", Tina asked with tinge of annoyance in her tone. Rosie stared at her blankly. She replied after few minutes. "Ma'am, I think you are mistaken. We still have time. When we land, we will let you know through an announcement." Tina was irked by now. She asked her again with stern voice, "Don't repeat what you told one hour back !" Rosie was about to say something when Tom intervened,  "It's not yet time. It's still 2: 45 am in my watch."  Tina panicked. She must be dreaming. She didn't reply. She quickly changed the time in her watch back to 2:45 am. Rosie asked her if she needed anything else and left immediately when there was no response. Tina quickly played some music to ease the panic in her heart.
